So many times, we have heard this whenever you’re on the stage, try to connect with the audience.
Audience connection is the key in public speaking.
Many times we have seen that people come on the stage and they fail to connect with the audience, you know why, because they are not connected with themselves.
Are You Connected With Yourself?
What do I mean by that?
Involuntary Hand Movement
Have you seen someone putting hands like this or in the pocket or playing with the coins in the pocket?
When I ask, have you told your hand to do all this? They said, no. It means your hands are not connected.
Involuntary Leg Movement
Have you seen people walking on the stage or moving the rhythmic movement when asked them, have you told your legs to walk like this to go back and forth? They say, no, it means your legs are not connected.
Involuntary Eye Movement
Have you seen people are looking here and there and up and down and speaking, but audience is sitting in front of you.
Have you told your eyes to look up and down? No. Your eyes are not connected.
Have you seen people breathing like this? They’re out of breath on the stage, your lungs are not connected.
You speak fast. Your tongue is not connected.
Audience connection is secondary. You can able to connect.
You will connect with the audience only when you are connected with yourself.
So next time when you’re speaking on the stage, make sure you ask someone to observe or make videos.
And after just watching it, whether your hands, your legs, your eyes, your speed, your breathing connected or not connected.
Connect With Yourself to Connect With Audience
Because if these all things are connected, if you are connected with yourself, you will be connected with the audience.
If you like this tip, do share with your family and friends and with everyone who wants to become a leader in life.
Because if you want to become a leader, you have to separate yourself from the crowd, stand alone and speak.
This is Praveen Wadalkar signing out until we meet again with a new tip.
